Hey everyone, CykaDev here!
Would you look at that… I’m on time and I have no special announcement to make about me not being able to work! That’s incredible.
We are back to the usual screenshot as our weekly showcase! Yeah, we still have the same placeholders, but I think I might have something special for you in stock, next week… Not gonna share it now, though! Just keep in mind it’s a placeholder. No way this is gonna be our final sprite. I mean, there might be something to do with them, but I won’t do that in this project anyway.
This week has been pretty hectic, as I’ve had to leave my place for a few days. Thankfully, I brought my PC and managed to write just like usual, so no harm was done!
Writing-wise, nothing much has changed. I’m still writing my daily 10.000 words, I’m still coming up with plot elements, and I keep feeling bad over some scenes I wrote. Yep, you can’t imagine how attached I’ve become to my own characters. Heads up, I’m only half joking. Like of course I don’t feel bad all the time but you know what, you’ll just figure that out when we’ll release the game
Stats time, as usual! We have about 41 hours of gameplay all scenes combined, with approximatively 630.000 words for 121.000 lines. See these 41 hours? We expected that to be 60 hours. Considering how far the game has come, and how fast I’m writing… I’m starting to believe it might reach the 100 hour mark. I don’t want to believe it either, but since we’ve only done 3 endings for now, it’s likely… Well, that means we’ll have written a 100 hour (ALL SCENES COMBINED I’M JUST MAKING SURE YOU KNOW THAT) game as our first indie project… for a free game. That is indeed pretty nice.
And now, what you’ve been looking forward to (or not?)… The Concrete Information Corner! Last time was Yashiro, now we’re gonna talk about Imada Okawa!
Imada is one of the protagonist’s teachers. Mr. Okawa is really dedicated to his students. He is against bullying, and he won’t hesitate to strongly punish students who disobey the rules. He is however kind of oblivious to these things, as it generally takes a while for him to spot abnormal signs of bullying or problems with his students. Depending on who he’s talking to, he can be really cold or unexpectedly nice. Quite a binary personality that’ll turn out to be rather interesting.
Anyways, that’s it for today’s news. I’m gonna try working even harder for the next few months. I’d like to ultimately quadruple my original work rhythm!
