Hey everyone, CykaDev here!
Right, today’s weekly news are much earlier than usual. That may be to say sorry about the fact I forgot about the news two days in a row… Maybe. I should definitely have some kind of alarm or something, but I’m pretty sure I’d forget anyway.
And now, the weekly summary that’ll hopefully make you think about something other than this damn virus, yeah?
Let’s start with the most important part, as usual: I’m getting closer and closer to the end of the writing. I have just about 5 in-game days left to write (I can count them on one hand! It’s way too exciting) and I’ll admit I just cannot wait to be done. Not that I hate writing SAFE, because I truly do love this job, but I can’t wait to move on to the post-writing steps that’ll make the game more polished and actually playable.
Since I have a lot of time on my hands and I don’t want to rush the writing of the VN, I’m also working on a little side project on my own, which isn’t a VN. I know, you’re probably expecting Paul Simulator 2020, but I’m not talking about that. I might share more information about it if it really ends up being a project rather than a bored guy’s playground.
As of now, we have 1.727.000 words for 354.000 lines. Still the same rhythm as always, getting things done as good as I can. It’s not the 15k a week I did back a few months ago, but I really really do not want to mess up this last “route”.
Let’s end these news with the Concrete Information Corner, which is BY FAR the most important one of all.
In our previous posts, you read that the VN would be about a female protagonist unable to communicate. Before you ask it once again, no, this is not the VN adaption of Komi-san. You’re about to know what started this whole project, and what it is based on.
Our protagonist is born deaf. That’s the premise of the VN: you play through 10 days (for one route. There are 57 days in total, just a reminder) of her daily life as a deaf student who just arrived a new town. How she deals with that is completely up to your choices, but you’ll have to discover that by playing!
Good God, it feels weird to finally let everyone know about what the VN is about. Really makes me realize we’re getting closer to the end…
And that’s it for this week! I hope you’re satisfied with what you could read today, and I hope you’re still interested in the game. Stay at home, stay safe, don’t hoard toilet paper, and stay awesome.
